Phil Hammer is an internationally recognized innovation leader with a track record of notable achievements from peers, clients and employee partners.
Phil was an inaugural member of Governor JB Pritzker’s 1871, Chicago’s premier technology incubator, and was an early exit success after founding ProcureApp from within. Phil continues to work with undeserved youth entrepreneurs to lead our community forward.
Phil is pursuing an MLA at the University of Chicago and holds a B.A.from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. The goal of Phil’s scholarship has been to concentrate on Ethics and Leadership in order to continually add value and nurture a quality culture of excellence, efficiency and innovation
Notable Achievements
2023-24: As Co-founder and CEO of startup The Big Picture Machine, Phil led the design of the largest implementation of Augmented Reality into a production environment. Phil led the research and development process, formulated product design, initiated client development which subsequently led to a successful rollout for Kreuger International’s See It Spec It platform on KI.com. ETH and NFT mining/minting.
2015-2016 Early Metaverse (before we called it that) prototyping to explore indoor location and virtual visualization. Scale 3d models of Chicago, United Center and Mies van der Rohe office buildings for remote showings. Some beautiful work by the team with interesting future possibilities…
2010-2014 Technology innovation success story, ProcureApp, a multi-platform product that maximizes the business traveler’s company resources and benefits through online travel sites. ProcureApp was acquired by global employee mobility services firm Runzheimer, International in 2014.
2009 Orbitz, now part of Expedia, honored Phil with its highly coveted "Power Award" for a new small business product which he designed and developed to capture new revenue streams in a cost effective way.
